Recontextualized Language (Auto-Completion)

by Natalie

Hey guys, so our recontextualized language project is due on Friday, and I just made a video. My decontextualized language came from the autocomplete feature on the iPhone, where I arbitrarily picked words that were suggested while texting. The result was an interesting story. This new context sheds light on the way that I text, and judging by the repeated words and phrases, part of my personality. I recontextualized the language again by creating a video. The video features visual and audio, showing myself texting on my phone, while playing an audio of my decontextualized language. I also layered in audio clips of the most repeated words and phrases that play at the same time the original text plays. This video further shows my personality and way of communicating by placing emphasis on the repeated words and phrases while adding visual aid. Can you guys tell me what you think?
